This product is an updated model of the GEL-FLEXKEE PRO, which was developed by analyzing the movements of skaters at the ASICS Institute of Sport Science while incorporating the opinions of professional skaters. This model is characterized by its high level of functionality that allows skaters to demonstrate their performance at a high level.
The product inherits the groove structure of the lateral side, which is designed to allow fine movements of the forefoot while skating. The GEL-FLEXKEE PRO 2.0 also provides better flexibility than the previous model, which improves the grip of the board and protects the toes from board hits.
The eyelets have a structure that allows two types of lacing, inner and outer, to prevent shoelaces from snapping while skating.
The shoe tongue is also designed to be durable, with the top tongue section folded back to prevent the shoelace from snapping. The ankle section has a new PU (polyurethane) print for improved durability when hitting the board. Furthermore, stitching has been added to the rearfoot to improve durability which accommodates the movement of the heelflip. GEL™ Technology has been placed from the center of the rearfoot towards the inner part to absorb the shock of landing, while making it easier to maintain balance on the board.
Inspired by the sole of the basketball shoe GEL-EXTREME released in 1989, the model has a sole structure that pursues stability against intense movements. Inside, it is equipped with BLAST FOAM, which has excellent cushioning properties, which is also used in running shoes, and provides cushioning against landing impacts. The upper is made of suede material on the outer shell side to increase durability, and the inner instep is made of mesh material for breathability. In addition, the thick specification of the tongue part provides an excellent fit and reduces foot bump when operating the board. Based on the analysis of the movement of the skateboard, the insole is designed with different hardness on the inside and outside, and the punching hole is provided to promote the inner center of gravity.
The "JAPAN S", which is based on the long-selling model "FABRE JAPAN S" that appeared in 1981 and was loved by many basketball players, has been updated to skateboard specifications. Based on the analysis of the movement of the skateboard, the insole is designed with different hardness between the inside and outside by providing punching holes, and the specification that promotes the inner center of gravity is adopted to improve the sense of stability on the board. The upper is made of suede material and has three stitching on the toe and heel parts for durability. The arrangement of the elastic band connecting the tongue and the insole reduces the misalignment of the shoe tongue, and the thicker tongue pursues comfortable wearing. Referring to past archives, the authentic design is inherited, and the suede material enhances the classic silhouette. The reflective material mounted on the heel is also a point to pay attention to.
Inspired by the VICKKA training type shoe released in the 1980s, the original sole was designed to increase stability against complex movements during training and updated to skateboard specifications. The forefoot of the upper uses a one-piece construction to reduce the risk of peeling. Based on the analysis of the movement of skateboarding competitions, the insole is designed with different hardness on the inside and outside, and the punching hole is provided to promote the inner center of gravity, thereby increasing the sense of stability on the board. The heel area incorporates GEL technology for excellent cushioning comfort. The classic design makes it easy to match not only the skateboarding scene but also various styles of everyday life.
